I've got an HD492, I'll take a look. We use the text server option which is a TCP connection for captions. I've never tried the serial connection, but will see what I can get!
Edit: No luck on either port, but I put in a ticket with EEG to see what those ports can do. The manual is a little thin on answers on that front.
Edit 2: Response from EEG, looks like they may not output captions?
"The RS232ports are used as General-Purpose serial ports for receiving data to be embedded into the video output. Serial port 1 can be enabled for SMPTE 333 protocol."

Subject: XPression Open Captions and iCap HD492
Hi!
Has anyone had any luck using the captioning Datalinq source with an iCap HD492 from EEG?
The HD492 looks like it sends out RS232 data, but it doesn't appear to be as straightforward as I had hoped. Any help would be much appreciated!
