    Hi all,

In the past we have imported many 3D-objects and that was OK except that we always had to scale the object in XPression. Now we are designing more complex stuff and we would like to keep the dimensions as designed, so a cube of 10px x 10px x 10px created in Cinema4D, exported to 3DS-file and imported in XPression should be 10px x 10px x 10px there as well (or 10cm x 10cm x 10cm in C4D should become 10px x 10 px x 10px in XPression), but whatever we do, we always have to scale the cube to match it to a cube created in XPression (of course the cube is just a test objects, we would like to import far more complexer objects than that). The scaling value we have to use is also a very weird value, like 0.682 or so. What are we missing here? Is there a procedure to follow when exporting form C4D and importing in XPression?

Gerard I have the same issues... drives me nuts. Unfortunately I do not believe there is a fix for this, scales does not matter and Xpression will make it the same size regardless of your scale in C4D....that's my experience anyway.

I have been told that unchecking the "Reset Transformations" (or something similar, I don't have access to XPression now so I can't check the actual caption of the checkbox) should solve the scaling. However, that is not the case. I discussed this with the XPression R&D Lead from Ross and hopefully this will be solved soon.

Keeping scale would be a real bonus when making Virtual Sets in a 3D package and importing parts, I agree fixing it would be great.

I had the same issue exporting from C4D as a .3ds file, was not able to correct it. I ended up exporting as an .obj, and it then imported correctly to Xpression.

    Hopefully this helps.
