Does Xpression Datalinq support Google Sheets to retrieve real-time data such as changing dollar amounts the someone enters?  I have only used RSS feeds and EXcel for data before but I need a different way to get data for a project.  I would appreciate anyone's advice on this.  Thank you.

There's no direct integration between Datalinq and google sheets but I will send you something you can try.

I haven't tried this method recently - but it worked last time I tried it in summer 2020. See attached PDF.

Hey Garner, I tried using this pdf guide to get a google sheet to populate in datalinq, but when I go to browse the data, the window is empty - no data. Has anything changed with this since you originally posted in 2021?

I tried the pdf just now, out of curiosity, without success. Looks like the Sheets v3 API has been turned down. I'm commenting on this thread so that I get notified, in case someone knows how to use Google Sheets in 2022.

Google has been locking down a lot of access methods to their services recently. I'm not to surprised that this method no longer works.

The most foolproof way of using Google Sheets in Datalinq is to use the CDATA Google Sheets ODBC Driver. This driver logs into your google account and makes all your google sheets accessible to Datalinq via ODBC. Which means Google sheets will appear as a database source in Datalinq. This gives you a stable connection to Google Sheets and allows you to query Google Sheets as if they were a database. However this driver is not free.

Attached to this post is an appnote describing how to use the CDATA ODBC plugin with Google sheets and XPression Datalinq.
