PSI files are created automatically by the XPression Project Server deploy process. When XPression Studio/BlueBox deploy a project from the Project Server the PSI file is created in the deploy folder for that project. PSI files contain reference information for XPression Studio/BlueBox to ensure they are loading the correct project from the Project Server. This file is especially important for Tessera workflows, but normal XPression workflows also generate this file.
If you're seeing multiple, its probably because the XPression graphics artist is doing a "save as" for the project file before publishing it the Project Server. Doing 'save as' creates a new ID for the project file. Its not a bad thing to do that and won't cause any issues, although I would not train someone to do that.
You can safely delete the psi files. XPression Studio/BlueBox will create a new one the next time it deploys a project from the project server.

Subject: .psi files in my projects
I'm not sure how this happened, but I noticed in my projects, along with the regular folders and files are numerous .psi files.
I did not save these, but I suspect they are somehow coming by way of Inception. Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening? And should I just delete these files? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
