  • 1.  Xpression Studio & Blackmagic Decklink Quad2

I've just built a system to run Studio v7 which I have just received. It is built to the published specs for Studio with the exception of the SDI card where I am trying to re-use a spare Decklink Quad2 card I currently have in place of the AJA Corvid card. I can get Xpression to output to all 8 of the channels on the Blackmagic card ok but I can't get Xpression to output the alpha channel so I can connect both key and fill to my carbonite system. On outputs 1, 3, 5 and 7 I can see the fill channel so I am assuming outputs 2, 4, 6 and 8 will have the key channel. Currently 1, 3, 5 and 7 have output ok but the corresponding alpha channel is missing on the other output. Can anyone shed any helpful ideas?

    Thanks Andrew.

For those reading it was the Blackmagic card. I have bought an AJA Corvid Card and all functions well.

A Decklink Quad 2 can only output fill. If you want a Decklink card that can output key as well you either need a Decklink 4K Pro or a Decklink 4K Extreme.

    Hi,

it is 2020 and we have a Decklink Quad 2 working well with F/K pairs. We used the "Decklink" (NOT "Decklink legacy") selection for hardware setup in XPression. But with this selection, we can not get an input to work. THIS again does work if we choose the "Decklink legacy" selection in the hardware setup. Strange but okay to live with.

ONE problem persists though: we can not adjust any timing offset. We are working with the sync of our control room (tried TLS and analog Blackburst), but the timing is some microseconds/lines out of range on aur router and switcher. With the AJA Kona Cards it was possible to adjust "lines" and "frames" within the hardware setup of XPression in the AJA-Poutput setup. But with the Decklink there is no such parameter within XPression. Just within the Decklink driver-controls but those have no effect on XPression and output timing.

What can we do to slightly adjust the timing of our Decklink Quad 2 outputs?

    thanks and regards

    Sefa
