I am having two problems with DashBoard.

    First problem
I am running dashboard on three computers Ver 8.3.1. The grid files I am running are located on our server. The reason is if I make a change to any one of the files the other computers will see the change when they re-load the file. This is where the problem is. If I save a file the file navigator in DashBoard does not display the file at all and panel link to that file does not work. To correct this problem, I must go into file navigator close the directory and then reopen it. Then the file is displayed and all works fine. This started happening when I installed Ver 8.3.1.

    Second problem
I am using two Carbonite switchers after installing DashBoard 8.3.1 the switchers in Basic Tree View showed the node-id for the switchers and not the ip address. This caused me to redo some of my panels to reference the node-id. Also, I am not able to rename the switchers to a logical id. This is not so much a problem to me but for some of the users it is.

I do not know if I have done something wrong or not. If you can give me some direction in this that would be great.

If you manually-add the Carbonite and do NOT hit 'detect frame information' the ID for the device will use the IP address instead of the hardware ID. You should still be able to use the IP:PORT identifier instead of the hardware ID in your custom panels as the IP is considered a 'secondary identifier'.

The file navigator should not have any changes between 8.2 and 8.3.1 to impact your use. Have you attempted to use DashBoard 8.4 Beta? It will be releasing very soon and does have a few updates inside of the file navigator. The issue could be that the file watch service is not able to actively detect new files on a network-attached storage (it certainly does on the local file system). Are you certain that this worked properly in previous versions of DashBoard?
