Hi,

I would like to build a panel containing timers that show the length, time remaining and the clipname specified, so the anchor in the studio has a reference in the studio.

Can someone help me on the way to get this timecode-information from the Blackstorm?

Or maybe build a small example to put me on the right track?

Hi Jurgen.
There is currently no command in the DashBoard VDCP library to get the current clip's position.
There are mechanisms to get the clip's duration and the active clip's ID - just not the current position. This makes showing a timer for a clip already in progress very difficult.

The only way to show a timer counting down the time remaining in a DashBoard Custom Panel is if the clip is also cued from that custom panel (that way a timer can be started at the same time as the clip).

Is this something you're planning on doing?

No that's not what i have in mind.
The clip is cued and started by Overdrive on the Blackstormserver.
I though, maybe i can borrow the timers from the Blackstorm panel in Dashboard, but it looks like that is locked (?)

Is there maybe a way to adjust the current Blackstorm panel in Dashboard?

Thank you very much for your feedback. Unfortunately, there is no solution to your problem in the current release of DashBoard.

We are always looking for ways to make DashBoard better and it may be possible to add such a feature to a future release. I recommend watching for a future release or Beta of DashBoard 8.2 to see if there is more we can do to get the current clip's position.
