  • 1.  Dashboard control of Blackmagic videohub?

I am dabbling in matters that are WELL ABOVE ME, but lookin from my ignorance these two items should play well together....

BlackMagic Design routers are controlled over ethernet. They provide a SDK for building control interfaces to control their routers.

My question is: Does anyone know of a DashBoard (Panel?) that has been created to control a router? Salvos?

It seems that this should be a logical extension of the Dashboard environment.

Did you ever get any info on this? We are looking at a BMD video hub but already have dashboard in use with our switcher.

I'm not aware of anyone who has created a CustomPanel to do this but that doesn't mean nobody has.
If you the protocol and are comfortable playing around in ogScript, we can answer questions you might have for how to do things like send a message over TCP/IP and/or listen for responses.

I have been working on a way to do this for some time now. It doesn't work that well sending commands directly from Dashboard to the Videohub (although this is not impossible, just has very limited functionality), so I've programmed an arduino to sit between them to accept Rosstalk commands and pass them to the videohub.

By doing this not only can you have multiple dashboard panels open to one hub, but you can store macros/presets, set patching with visual feedback, create timed schedules and link GPI/O to and from the hub, allowing full control/recall of all these functions from multiple dashboard panels simultaneously.

Anyways let me know if you needed some more info~
