I am looking to control my Sierra Video "Aspen" 72x72 video router inside of Dashboard. There is a web interface, but i am wondering if anyone has created a more specialized button selection panel or something like this.

This is my first device that is not a Carbonite that i am looking to control, so i apologize if this is a very basic question.

    Thanks!

A bit hard to tell without knowing more about the protocol(s) that particular router speaks.

Are you saying it can be controlled simply by sending http requests to it or that it has a web page you use to control it?

I know that it has a webpage that you can use to control it. I do not know about anything more than that.

My guess is that the Aspen router supports a number of different protocols.

    According to their documentation:

    http://www.sierravideo.com/pub/manuals/Aspen_Series/Aspen%207272%20HD3G.pdf

Their router supports being controlled over TCP/IP using what appears to be their own protocol called 'Host'.

The PDF I pointed to you above describes it.

It is likely possible to control it using that protocol and creating "listeners" in a Custom Panel to talk to it.

I don't know anyone who has tried to control that particular router using Listeners yet.
