  • 1.  Can't use Dasboard 8.1 because of popup

    Just downloaded 8.1 for Mac OSX (I'm on El Capitan, 10.11.2), and I can't use it or click on anything. Every time I open it, a popup appears, and I can't click on a single thing in the popup. I also can't close it or switch to the other (main) window and ignore it. It basically freezes me out of the whole program. Any suggestions?

    I'm very sorry you're having problems with your upgrade to DashBoard. This is the first report we've had of being unable to click the restore software dialog.

    One way to get going again is to delete the backup copy of the plug-ins that is causing the window to appear.
    There is a folder under Applications/DashBoard called "install" - delete this folder and things should start working.

    Thanks for your quick response, James! I both updated my OS to 10.11.6 *and* deleted that folder. All seems well now. Much appreciated!
