Is there a way to set the default end action in Dashboard to be hold, cue, pause when adding a clip to a list?

Each BlackStorm Server DashBoard client computer contains a defaultSettings.xml file in the following folder:

C:DashBoardworkspace.metadata.pluginscom.rossvideo.softmetal.riceconf

Since DashBoard is a client side application, you must make setting changes to the defaultSettings.xml files on each DashBoard client computer connected to your BlackStorm Server.

This file contains the following settings:

defaultNewECAType:

The default playlist End of Clip Action (ECA) to use when adding multiple clips to a playlist. Available values are xfade, vfade, vfadepause, next, pause, or holdcuepause.

defaultNewECAParam:

The default duration to apply to each ECA.

I'm new to this forum and the Ross family. I have a Carbonite running with Dashboard with 2 channels of Blackstorm. I'm running software ver 10.0.2. Also trying to set default end action to Hold, cue, pause when adding clips to a playlist. However it appears we don't have that default settings xml file?

I actually posted the file path in that post without slashes. Did you check here on your Dashboard PC:

C:DashBoardworkspace.metadata.pluginscom.rossvideo.softmetal.riceconf

Thanks for the quick reply. Followed the path to conf file folder and it appears that file does not exist on my system! Amy ideas how to proceed?

Are you checking Dashboard software installed directly on the BlackStorm or a remote PC?

Can you check the Dashboard folder that is directly on the BlackStorm and see if the file is there?

(Note that modifying the file on the BlackStorm won't make the remote Dashboard work - just want to see if you have the file anywhere)

Hover over the BlackStorm icon in Dashbaord to get the version.

Is that folder just completely empty or not present?

Can you do a Windows Search for the file? It HAS to be on the system somewhere.
