    Hi Guys

Apologies in advance, I know this has been asked however I am having a tough time.

I am trying to workout 3pt percentage for Basketball, can anyone give me a simple explanation of how to do this? I have tried using Visual logic but to no avail.

    Thanks in advance

    Dennis

I'm afraid I know absolutely nothing about basketball but, if you explain what you're trying to do (inputs, outputs, algorithm, and what you intend to do with the number once you get it), I can try to show you how to code it.

Not sure how to answer without more info? I assume you are pulling data that has 3PA (3-pointers attempted) and 3PM (3-pointers made) and are trying to create it that way?

So you should be able to divide 3PM/3PA and get a percentage. Then use the mid string block to remove the trailing numbers and the zero (so from 0.666666666666666666667 to .667).

Here it is in the XPression VL Editor as I'm not near my dashboard machine.

    Hi Guys

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, I have attached some pictures of my visual logic, I have just tried to get a simple calculation but it does not seem to be working.

Is there any error information being printed to the "openGear Debug Information View"'s window?

I clicked on the parameter I did the visual logic on and this is what I get

Wait! I see what's missing. You need to take the output of your calculation and feed it back into a parameter somewhere. Right now, it is calculating a value but throwing it away.

Connected the yellow dot at the right of your Multiply block to the yellow dot on the left of the parameter you want to throw the value into.

If my understanding is correct, this is what you mean?

Secondly, just to make sure I am on the right path, I add this visual logic as a task?
