• 1.  Assigned source of MiniME1 changes along with the change of MultiScreen1 Source

Posted 12-18-2015 08:16
HI,

In a Custom Panel, I have created separate buttons for MiniME1,MiniME1 Background Sources,Multi Screen 1 and Multi Screen Background Sources.
While assigning the background sources to the MultiScreen1, Its changing the MiniME1 background source along with it, even though the OID of MiniME1 and MultiScreen1 are different.
Its happening in same way, when I try to assign the sources using Buses(live Assist).
I don't want MultiScreen1 to change the MiniME 1 source along with it.
Is there any way to restrict this ?
Please let me know the solution. If it not then please let me know the reason behind this problem.

Hi Michael,

The MultiScreen feature utilises the MiniME resources to provide the outputs -- each screen in the MultiScreen output uses a MiniME to create the background and keys of the outputs.

Each MiniME output is pre-assigned to a screen on the MultiScreen layout. MiniME 1 & 2 are assigned to MultiScreen 1, and MiniME 3 & 4 are assigned to MultiScreen 2. If you select a layout that uses more than 2 screens, the MiniME resources that were assigned to MultiScreen 2 are assigned to MultiScreen 1.
In other words,
- If you adopt a 3-screen layout for MultiScreen, then you would only have MultiScreen 1 with MiniME 1, 2 & 3 assigned to it.
- If you adopt a 4-screen layout for MultiScreen, then you would only have MultiScreen 1 with all 4 MiniMEs assigned to it.

As the Carbonite has 4 MiniMEs, this allows you to have 2 MultiScreens with 2 screens each (each configured as 1x2 or 2x1), or 1 MultiScreen with 3 screens (configured as 1x3 or 3x1), or 1 MultiScreen with 4 screens (configured as 1x4 or 4x1 or 2x2).

Hope the above helps to explain that MultiScreen 1 and MiniME 1 are linked.

Regards,
Jacqueline
