  • 1.  Display Scaling

Having a problem with my laptop's screen display. On an older laptop with a 1920x1080 display, it works fine. But my new laptop is 4k, and then Windows scales things up to look like 1920x1080, but much sharper.

I have this problem with Dashboard and the Ross Developer help files - the programs are not scaling. The menus and so forth are, but the dialogs and the interfaces I'm creating are absolutely tiny.

The usual solution for this is to change the laptop's resolution to 1920x1080, which fixes some programs - but not Dashboard.

In fact, even trying to use an external display that actually IS 1920x1080, the text is tiny and barely readable (unusable to build the interface).

    Any advice would be appreciated.

There are several things we can try here. [LIST=1]
  • We have introduced a new "Large Fonts" mode that might help you a bit. Window -> Preferences -> General -> "Use large fonts where possible"
  • If you are on Windows, right-click the DashBoard.exe and go to "Properties". Make sure scaling for high DPI displays is NOT disabled
  • If you are on Windows, try setting your compatibility mode to Windows 7 (for testing purposes).
