Hi James,
Any button can be triggered with a 'virtual GPI'.
Really it's just two steps:
-Attach a 'virtual GPI' to a key combo.
-Attach that virtual GPI to any button you want to run.
Step 1: Attach a virtual GPI to a key combo
Any key combination in DashBoard can be made to send virtual GPIs.
So, in the main application goto 'window\preferences' (from the menu bar at the top).
Choose 'Keyboard Shortcuts'.
Select 'New Command'
Now choose 'Fire GPI Trigger'.
Select the Shortcut Field and type whatever Key or Key combo you are looking for.
Hit the next button.
In the 'GPI Trigger' type the text you want to send, I'm going to type '100' (just the numbers, not the quotes...)
The 'State' field can be left blank, this is for more features on virtual GPIs that you don't need for this example.
Step 2: attach that virtual GPI to your button.
In edit mode for a button you will see in the button attributes tab a field called 'Trigger ID'.
You can type anything here, but, usually just a number, so as an example, I'm going to type in '100' to match my virtual GPI
You are now done!
Troy
