Hello,
Just upgraded my laptop and I'm having trouble gett DashBoard launched. Tried both the public release & the beta, both give me the same error message:

Can you confirm that you have the directory /Library/Application Support/openGear/DashBoard ?
If so, can you verify that you have read/write permissions on those directories?
It should be owned by ROOT but have full permissions for anyone in the STAFF group.

If you do, can you please send us the information in the log file specified in the error message.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like all the permissions are correct. Here's the log:

Looking at the error log, it most definitely seems to be a permissions issue on the data directory. The fatal error is:
[QUOTE]The platform metadata area could not be written: /Library/Application Support/openGear/DashBoard/.metadata

Can you post the permissions you have for that directory?

Was there ever a solution to this? i am having same issue on Mac OS 10.10.5

Can you please post the permissions listed for the directory [I] /Library/Application Support/openGear/DashBoard/.metadata [/I]?
You can locate these by opening a command prompt and going to /Library/Application\ Support/openGear/DashBoard/ and doing an "ls -la" command

The DashBoard 8.0.1 installer should be leaving the owner as "root" and setting the group permissions to "staff". Once this happens, any files created should be writable by anyone in the "staff" group. Previous versions of DashBoard had the group set to "admin" which caused some issues when users were not in the "admin" group.

Once you post your permissions, if they are incorrect, I can provide you with instructions for how to fix this. If they are correct and the issue is still occurring, we will have to debug further.

I'm experiencing that exact same issue using Dashboard 8.2.0 on OSX 10.11.6. Is this still an issue?

If you re-install DashBoard and the problem persists, can you please try navigating to the directory I listed above and show what the permissions are?

I seem to be having the same problem but in OSX 10.12
