Facility Control

I have a client contemplating using a BlackMagic Atem switcher with Dashboard (and XPression). Does anybody happen to know what protocol it uses (ie: PBUS, etc) - and if it will be able to talk to Dashboard?

Hi Brian,

The ATEM has an API that that you use the program it, which I doubt can be used with Dashboard. You could create a program that uses the API that can listen to commands set to from Dashboard. That's the only way I can think of doing it.

I am pretty sure the BMD Atem switchers can recieve OSC commands.
And you can also send OSC command through the "Send UDP" through the visual logic in Dashboard. Soooooo, with quite a bit of work, and knowledge about the OSC commands available for the Atem switcher, I would assume it could work.Though not without some hacks.

From what I can tell, they don't support OSC. There is an open source app for macOS that acts as a bridge between OSC and the ATEM. https://www.buechele.cc/blog/2013/2/5/atemosc-a-osc-bridge-to-control-atem-switchers

A little late to the game here, but I created a workflow today that uses the OSC to ATEM software and AppleScript commands to send OSC to it. My endgame was to then trigger the scripts from an elgato stream deck to run macros on the ATEM but you could very easily trigger the script from Dashboard as well. If anyone would like to know more, you can send me a PM. Thanks!
