Good afternoon!

We have 32 DashBoard-controlled devices (most of them OpenGear frames), and we're finding that DashBoard, which was pretty fast to respond several years ago, is quite slow now. There's a noticeable lag controlling our MC1 cards (we have ten of them), and configuring other cards is becoming painful because the card displays are constantly dropping out to refresh their status. We are seeing this on multiple computers running both XP and Windows 7; we see the same issue with both Dashboard 5 and 6.0.0.

Any ideas about how we can bring performance back up?

Any given card has 5 seconds to respond to a message sent by DashBoard. If DashBoard sends a message and doesn't get a response in this time, it will assume the card has malfunctioned and will have to re-query it for its parameters when the card starts talking again. That sounds like what you're seeing so the trick is to figure out why your devices are unable to respond in that amount of time.

A few quick questions:

• How many DashBoards are connecting to the devices?
• Are the devices in the same building as DashBoard?
• If you disconnect from the other devices in a DashBoard, do the remaining devices become more responsive?
• How long has it been since DashBoard has been restarted?
• How long has it been since the openGear Frames or MC1s have been restarted?
