  • 1.  Trying to build a panel to switch Carbonite inputs but can't get it to work. What am I doing wrong?

We have a Carbonite with the 1-A-16 panel. I am trying to make a panel for Dashboard that switches the inputs on the program bus. I can get Parms to work like Time Code from switcher and a CUT button to activate the Carbonite so I know its talking to the unit, but I can't get these switch commands to work. See the image. What am I doing wrong?

XPT Bus 1 source 10 for example. Would that not switch the program bus on ME1 to input 10?

I have read through the manual a few times, just can't get it. Any help please? Using Dashboard 6.0.0.

    Thanks!

    Hi Grant.

When you add a RossTalk Command the Busses and Source that you need to put in are outlined in our RossTalk document.

For Example, to control the Program Bus on MLE 1 you need to put in MLE:1:PGM

Sources for input 10 would be IN:10

We have a document outlining these, if you send me an e-mail at: tenglish@rossvideo.com I'll send you a copy of it.

As well, if you send me that .grid file, I'll get the first ones done for you so you can see what they all look like.

    Troy,

Thanks for responding. Just having your explanation was enough for me to figure it out. I had already downloaded the Ross Talk Commands PDF from the website, but for whatever reason it was not making it through my brain. I have working buttons now. Thanks for the help!

For anyone else doing this, After you select Ross Talk, you select the XPT command in the drop down box, you need to put MLE:1:PGM in the Bus box and IN:1 in the Source box. Once you do that it changes that menu after you close it and reopen it. The Bus and Source boxes are gone and now you just have a custom command and in the command box it should say XPT MLE:1:PGM:IN:1

This would switch to input 1 on MLE1 when pressed. My problem was I was just putting 1 in the bus box and 1 in the Source box thinking it would auto build the command string. But it doesn't do that.

I'm glad I was able to help Grant.

And further to that, if someone needs to find the document you can use this link:
