  • 1.  Communications between Carbonite and Blackstorm Server

    Currently I can not get Dashboard to communicate and auto detect the switcher or blackstorm server. How do these need to be hooked up? We currently have router and switch in our truck and they are connected to the switch. Do I need a crossover cable between the two devices? Any help would be appreciated.

    Is the switch connected to the router? Do both of your devices have valid IPs? Your switch won't do DHCP for the switcher and blackstorm server so unless you've manually assigned them IPs, they may not be seeing a valid network or each other.

    Connect your switch to the router and verify that both devices are assigned valid IP addresses. Otherwise manually assign these addresses yourself.

    Both devices have valid IP addresses. I will try it all again.

    Hi MIke,

    Is your Blackstorm on the same LAN with the same subnet as dashboard? can you ping the Server from the PC running dashboard?
