Getting inconsistent behavior when uploading files to BlackStorm. Using FTP, sometimes files show up in the media bin in Dashboard/BlackStorm, but sometimes they don't. Using FTP client, I can see that the files have uploaded, but the do not appear in Dashboard. Sometimes it works like a charm.

    Using Animation codec (75% quality), 1280x720, 59.94fps.

Any ideas? What am I doing wrong?

    Shane,

Has anyone reached out to you on this issue, yet?

No, no reply except for yours. I did manage to get past my urgent situation last week. But this has been an ongoing issue for us: inconsistent behavior when uploading/importing files to the BlackStorm server. Sometimes it works, sometimes it fails. Sometimes a file will appear to be importing, but then never shows up in the media bins.

The only thing I noticed that I changed recently during my urgent situation was that the failed FTP uploads were rendered with 1 keyframe every 60 frames (house format is 720p, 59.94 fps), using Animation codec at 75% quality. When I re-rendered (after several attempts), I finally changed the setting back to keyframe every frame, the file successfully uploaded.

Any thoughts on all of this? Is there something I am not doing that should be a part of the upload/import process?

    Thanks,

    Shane

Set the keyframe to every frame... THat should resolve the issues.

Thank you, I'll give that a try going forward. Do you know why imports fail when I am importing from the Blackstorm Media folder, as opposed to FTP uploads from another workstation?

Also, I believe I read a post somewhere here about new BlackStorm software/drivers, etc. Are these free "maintenance" updates? Or paid upgrades. What is the best procedure to check versions, download and install new updates, etc.?
