    Hello guys,

I am currently testing some Mira video servers (Tria and Mira). I would really like to control these with Dashboard.

As these servers already are controllable from Ross switchers, it would be great to enhance the functionality by adding dashboard control. Do you have any plans to add AMP to Dashboard?

    Hi Jens,

I *have* actually written some AMP commands into DashBoard using scripting onto a panel. I will say it was non-trivial as AMP over Ethernet has some oddities. So, it is possible but not a simple thing to do.

As to including AMP directly into DashBoard natively, we may choose to do that in the future, but, it is not happening in the near term (i.e. < 1 year) so I wouldn't hold on to waiting for that feature.

What exactly are you trying to do with the Mira from DashBoard. I.e which features did you want to see exposed?

    Troy.

    Hi Troy,

I would like to get and update the clip list, and then choose and play a clip from that list.

Or just make a shotbox that fire off specific clips, like we do with carbonite today.

Sounds like it will be easier to make Abekas implement VDCP over ethernet instead. :-)

    Hi Jens,

Just starting to take a look at Dashboard from the Abekas end. I know you have been talking to Doug here. It looks pretty neat.

One thing that may be worth looking at is our XML control interface which is over Ethernet. This should be a lot easier to work with than the somewhat crazy VDCP and AMP binary oriented protocols and exposes a lot more functionality as well. This would just need you to push ascii over the socket so may be a whole lot easier to work with (and debug!),
