I have been designing and editing numerous Dashboards for my studio for a while. I have been using several different Windows 10 x64 Professional systems. Everything worked great until I upgraded to Dashboard v7.0. Now I get these weird display issues that I cannot seem to resolve. It's highly prevalent whenever the Save As prompt box appears or I'm editing in the Source tab for some reason. I can try to provide some pictures for reference. It kind of looks like multiple windows are open and overlapping one another or something like that. It's kind of hard to describe but the pictures kind of show it. The distortion moves when I move my mouse, type, or move the entire window. It's not a static distortion in picture but a dynamic one.

Looks like some kind of exception getting thrown in the paint logic.
Can you check your error logs Help->About DashBoard->Installation Details->View Error Log and post any exceptions that might be appearing around the time you are experiencing repaint issues?

If there are none, you can find additional error information output if you launch DashBoard with the "-console" argument (launch DashBoard.exe -console)

I tried both of these options and neither reported any sort of error. The Error Log only mentioned Launching Dashboard numerous times and the console never reported anything significant. I saved a dxdiag of my system and shall attach it. If nothing else, this will at least let you know the specifications of the system I primarily design on. Again, Dashboard worked fine on version 5.7 and all throughout version 6. I didn't start seeing this bizarre issue until version 7. I usually work with my Windows 10 scaling set to 100% but just to rule out some sort of weird scaling problem, I tried altering it to a number of different options to no avail.

I also just downloaded and installed version 8.0 in the hopes that it would resolve the problem. Unfortunately it did not, as my attached picture demonstrates. The issue always appears when I try to save. It usually occurs in the Source page when attempting to highlight some of the script information. The distortion alters as I move my mouse and click. It appears to be an aesthetic visual problem however it makes it quite difficult to design/edit any of my Dashboards. Also is there some way to download prior versions of Dashboard? I no longer have the older installations as I didn't predict this sudden problem to occur.

Hmm... Another thing we could test (not for as a solution but to try to narrow down the problem) is seeing if something in the more recent versions of Java have changed to trigger this issue with your graphics drivers.

If DashBoard 6.x worked just fine, could you try replacing the "JRE" folder in DashBoard 8.0 with the one from DashBoard 6.x and see if the issue is still present?

So far, we have not heard other reports of this in DashBoard 7.x or 8.x.

Unfortunately as I stated before, I no longer possess the installs for Dashboard 6.x or Dashboard 5.x nor do I have them installed on my system. I also cannot find any place to download them from the Ross Video website. I only see the most recent version. Surely you must have an area to download legacy versions? Just like Nvidia has for their drivers or AJA has for their devices.

I tried uninstalling and updating the Java on my system, but this didn't solve the problem.

I tried installing a fresh copy of Dashboard v8.0 on a new All-In-One computer running Windows 10 x64 Pro and it appeared to run fine on this system.

I decided to keep Dashboard installed on both, but copied the JRE folder from the working computer over to the other non-working ones and it actually appears to have resolved the issue. It's a good thing you mentioned that Java was possibly the cause as I hadn't considered this before. It's strange that uninstalling and reinstalling Dashboard didn't resolve this though.

In any case, I'm just pleased that it appears to be functioning now. I only wish I would have solved this a month or two ago. It would have solved some headaches.

While we do keep copies of every release, we do not generally make them available for download on the Ross Video website.
For debugging purposes, you can obtain a copy of DashBoard 6.2.4 from the attached link.

Thank you so much. I'll make sure to hold onto this one.

I'd still recommend using the 8.0 release if possible - there are numerous enhancements and bug fixes since 6.2.4.

What I'm curious about is whether or not the replacing the JRE folder in your DashBoard 8.0 with the one from DashBoard 6.2.4 fixes the painting issue you're experiencing.
