    Hey Guys,

I am working on a DB panel to control multiple aspects of our video control system. I have 1 or 2 devices the are usb controlled. I know dashboard does not have a native function to send commands via serial/usb. However, has anyone used a intermediary software that the DB could send commands to via tcp/udp and then have the software translate the commands and send them out serial/usb?

    Thanks!

So i actually just found this freeware that looks like it will do what I need. The only draw back is you need to have one instance of the software open for each comport, so if anyone has another SW they have used that would be great.

    Thanks!

The most common solution we've seen in the field is to use a separate box like Moxa or DeviceMaster that translates serial to UDP or TCP. If you have found a solution that can run as software on your local machine, you're doing well.
