Hello,
I upgraded our workstation PC to Dashboard 7, and in the process there was an additional step when first launching 7 that detected and installed additional software for Blackstorm. I'm also creating a new Dashboard 7 installation on an additional computer and, while I can manually add the Blackstorm using the IP address, it asks for a location to install additional software from. This is on a Mac - where do I point the installer to?

@matthewdrury if you right-click on the "Unknown" node for the BlackStorm and select "View Connection Settings", what do you see?
When you double-click on the node, the 'install new software' dialog should automatically-populate with the information for your specific server (the BlackStorm contains the plug-in that needs to be installed). If the dialog does not populate, it is likely an issue of the machine name for the BlackStorm not resolving.

I'm working on installing Blackstorm Client on an additional computer on my network but outside of the control room to build playlist for my editors. My two control room computers can access Blackstorm through Dashboard and have control of the server. I can connect to the Blackstorm server with the newer version of Dashboard (8.4.1), but when I double click on the Blackstorm server in Dashboard the Install Software comes up but is blank, with a "Loading..." indicator but no Plug-ins listed for Blackstorm Server. Where can I find this Plug-in for Blackstorm?

When you right-click on the BlackStorm node and select "View Connection Settings", can you tell me what values it contains?

Perfect. This could be a host name resolution issue - an you ping "BVS5014695001" from your DashBoard computer?

Okay, you have 2 easy options to resolve this issue: [LIST=1]

• Manually add the host name of your BlackStorm to the hosts file on your computer. You can learn more about this option here: https://www.imore.com/how-edit-your-macs-hosts-file-and-why-you-would-want
• Manually-add the repository with the BlackStorm plug-in to DashBoard:

[LIST=|INDENT=1]

• Go to Help->Install New Softaware
• In the box where it says URL, type http://IP_ADDRESS_OF_YOUR_SERVER:8080/Plugin/BlackStorm
• Hit the "Go" button
• You should see the BlackStorm Video Server plug-in listed
• Check the box beside the plug-in and click the "Install" button at the bottom right of the dialog
