I am trying to get one of my XPression channels output as a window in Dashboard. I figured it would be the Widget option, then clicking on the XPression Desktop Preview 1.0 option. Am I wrong? What am I missing here? Is this even possible?

Are you trying to see the live video of what is being output, or just a thumbnail of what is on that channel?

I would like to see a live output if possible.

If you want to see the live output, then the easiest way is to use an SDI to NDI streaming box. Something like this:

    http://www.bird-dog.tv/studio-overview-2/

I know NewTek also makes an SDI to NDI box.

You would loop your XP SDI output through it, and that box would stream the contents of the output as an NDI stream on your network. Then you can drop an NDI element into your DashBoard panel, with the following button:

I know that XP can also stream directly to NDI as an output, but it's not mirroring an existing SDI output, but treating the NDI as a different output altogether. So you can't use that to see what's on a specific output in DashBoard.

Without NDI, you cannot see that live output of XP. You can only see a thumbnail of what's playing. Let me know if you prefer to do that instead.

Also, to use the XPression Desktop Preview widget in DashBoard, you need to configure XP and add a Desktop Preview Output to it.

In XP, go to Hardware Setup. In the Input/Output tab, click on "Add at the bottom left". In the popup, select "XPression Desktop Preview Client" as the brand. Click on OK, then enter the DashBoard Host IP and Channel you want to monitor.

But that should give you just a thumbnail, and not a full live preview.
