Wondering if anyone has experience with triggering cue lists on an ETC Ion through dashboard. Just starting to do some research before I really dive and trying to make some dashboard buttons. 

In general too, looking to control a lot through dashboard. Other than the dashboard manual and reference material and YouTube videos by Ross, what would you recommend as a resource for building custom commands. Like, will it all make more sense if I spend more time studying java script, GPIO commands, or MIDI commands? I feel when I have these dashboard questions I know what the outcome I want is, but no idea how to frame a detailed question without a better base knowledge of what is going on. 

Hey, if it's not too late - I'm using UDP commands from Dashboard to control lighting cues on my ION. It took some doing to find the actual string commands the ION wants, but some of them are listed on pg. 33 of the "EosFamily_ShowControl_UserGuide_RevC" PDF. It's not complete and I got a bit of info by looking up "UDP" on the community.etcconnect.com site, but some commands were still trial and error.

From the Control and APIs section under ogScript / Communication, I insert the  'Send UDP Message (String)'. The actual string to execute a cue is "$ go_to_cue 1 time 2 #" without the quotes.

It took me a while to get time to test, but works like a charm. It took me a second to find a way to program a Port # for UDP strings, but after I found that, it works as exactly as I hoped. Very cool.
