  • 1.  Fixing old posts in the forum (code parts specifically)

    Posted 04-28-2019 22:16

So, first off... YES! The new forum is easy to navigate. I like the automatic similar posts, and the post editor is easy enough to understand.

And the intergration with support as well is good!

But... And there's allways a "but"... Old posts... Many of them are now either broken, or especially the code snippets are now extremely long and filled with unessasary line changes.
I was looking for a specific post now, and when I found it, the code snippets are, well, kinda dumb looking to put it short.

    Example here: https://support.rossvideo.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360040335312-Get-Element-Name-or-OID-

I know I know... Not everything is perfect, and it's not a MAJOR thing. But having these old posts to go back and look at is really helpfull, but as it is now, the code examples and such from old posts are really confusing.

    Any plans for fixing these?
(And yes, this post could be placed elsewhere as well, it just fit into DashBoard due to so many code examples provided here)

    Hi Aleksander

Our web team is working hard to clear-up any issues related to the recent upgrade of the forum software. I have forwarded your feedback (and link) to them so they can take a look.

    Cheers.

    James

    Thanks!

I assumed you were already working on it, but figured I'd give it a small post anyhow...
Will be alot easier reading code examples when you dont have an insane amount of line changes as well :)
