  • 1.  is it possible to get ultrix crosspoint status in dashboard via TSL UMD ?

    Posted 05-29-2019 11:22

    Hello

I want to got TSL UMD data from my Ultrix to dashboard. So, reffering to manuals, i did those steps:

    1. Enable tally option on Ultrix DB.

    2. Set up an outgoing connection over ethernet between Ultrix and a third-party device:

    3. Assign tallyId to SRC and DEST on ultrix:

    4. Enable tally TSL UMD listener on Dashboard:

So, now i should got some data (in "production" section of tallylight sservice in DB ) while i connect camera 1, 2, 3, 4 to MCR MON 2. But nothing happens.

    What i do wrong?

    Thanks, Alex.

    Hi Alex,

Ultrix does not generate TSL data, but can receive it and pass it along to another device.

Are you sending TSL to your Ultrix for another device?

    Thanks,

    Jake

    Thank you, Jake

Ok, so it was my misunderstood. I thought ultrix can generate and send TSL data.

But is it possible to generate TSL 3.1 message in dashboard - to trigger TallyId1 for example?

    Referring to this table:

The TSL command with ID1 redtally on should be something like:

00000001 (address)  10000000 (control byte)  XXXXXXXXXX display data (i don't need any display character)

If you can provide example for TSL message it would be very helpful!

    Thank you,

    Alex.

    Hi Alex,

Dashboard can't generate Tally messages either, that service inside of Dashboard only listens for TSL messages, it doesn't generate them!

The issue is, that it isn't Ross Video's protocol, and is owned by TSL.  So it isn't my place to share their protocol.

What I can do, is send some TSL messages from my Carbonite switcher, to my Ultrix, and give you the message that my Carbonite sends / my Ultrix receives.

Below are a handful of TSL messages out of the Carbonite and into my Ultrix.

Remember it is going to be true hex data that you need to send!

I hope this helps, I might suggest reaching out to TSL products if you are looking for more info on their protocol however!

    Best Regards,

    Jake

Hello Jake and thank you so much for that information

When you trying to understand some protocol - example is best, this is much more that i could ask from you.

I succeed to understand protocol basics, and succeed to get those messages using dashboard tsl 3.1 listener (i opened 2 dashboards on same pc, turned on TSL 3.1 listener on one and send your commands using rosstalk.sendAsBytes to localhost:5725 from other instance).

Tomorrow i will try to send it to Ultrix.

    Alex.
