  • 1.  Carbonite to Dashboard On Air, Tally, or Active State Custom Buttons

    Hello,

I'm trying to find a way to get On Air, Tally, or Active state information to alter the color of some custom buttons I have.

I have a custom panel with a set of buttons controlling the pv bus selection on ME1 and ME2. I would like to find a way for which ever source is on air to show that button as red and whichever source is in pv to show that in green. I assume this should be done with the tally service but I'm lacking on how to implement.

I'm also having trouble finding a carbonite parameter to allow me to transition keys on and off air. I can do this with ccs and carbonite api but I was hoping for the same on air light information found on the physical panel to translate in dashboard. I assume this needs to be a carbonite parameter but I just cant find it.

The active state information is basically the same as the above two problems. I'm willing to use ogscript, visual logic, or whatever you have to get this done. Just need someone to point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

    Hi Paul.

Are you working with the OGP parameters exposed by Carbonite or currently trying to do things though RossTalk?

If you work with the OGP parameters exposed in the Live Assist "Buses" UI, you should be able to use the background and preset parameters and just color the toggle on/off state differently for each parameter.

You can also use Tally information and interact with it through the ogScript layer but, if you're able to make use of the parameters, the task will be greatly simplified.

    Cheers.

I've used the OGP parameters on the Live Assist page to make this work for some key buttons but they are only looking for a change in state when you click the button. I need a way for it to update itself without clicking the button?

    Hi Paul.

The OIDs should all be reporting live information from the switcher as it changes (no interaction from your side should be necessary). For example, you should be able to take the parameter and change it from showing as a bunch of toggle buttons to showing as a single label - the label would show you the current source as the text of the label.

If that isn't working for you, can you tell me which OID numbers (and which switcher model and software version they're on) are giving you trouble?

    James
