  • 1.  Password Protect Grid File

    Hi All, Is there a way to password protect a grid file so a user couldn't access and edit it? Here is the example. We have many clients using the same panel layout at different locations and some of the locations have people knowledgeable enough to make changes to the panels, but we do not want to allow access to see or edit the back end. Is it possible to set a password where if you go into panel builder mode it won't allow to you see or edit the source code behind the UI? Thanks

    open a .Grid file and go to editmode. Doubleclick on the grid and Edit Component <abs> select the abs map and click on the Source tab. 

     

    change this line with the content you want to protect youre file with

    <abs contexttype="opengear" editlock="password" encrypt="SimpleEncrypt" id="_top">

     

    editlock=""   //is a password protect option

    encrypt="SimpleEncrypt"  //protect the gridfile to open in notepad++ to see the script its encode the text
