1st question. Is it possible to midi control custom panel presets with ableton?

    2. I have seen some multiviewers have a counter on Preview and Program that starts counting once you switch camera feeds to let you know how long you are sitting on one shot.

    Thank you for the input!

    1. I'm not sure what ableton is.   Can you provide a link?   Is it hardware or software?

    2. Do you mean you want to make a multiviewer in DashBoard?    DB does have timers, and we could set them up so that as soon as a switcher's bus is changed, the timer resets and starts to count up.   But that is not inside a multiviewer.   Can you clarify how you would use a DashBoard Panel in this scenario?

here is the link to ableton, It is software used for tracks for musicians in ears

    https://www.ableton.com/en/shop/live/

For multiview correct when i change a bus in my multiviewer program feed i want to see a time over layed on PGM counting up till i change that bus again. The only example i have is this . This is elevation church on youtube. this is the multiview and you can see on there preview screen there is a counter that starts after each change.

I had to ask a few people about this, since I'm not a Midi or Multiviewer expert.   This is what I found out about Midi:

DashBoard can respond/set notes and continuous controls on channel 1 (that's our MIDI plug-in integration).

For other MIDI messages, it is most common to use OSC through a 3rd-party software

But it is also relatively easy to write your own code that would talk TCP or UDP to DashBoard and send MIDI messages - we have done this in at least one custom panel project i've been involved with where we needed to send custom MIDI questions to a Yamaha mixer

As far as the multiviewer in the video, I asked our Switcher guys, and he said:

That is an Acuity Switcher that offers a Preview Overlay Function.  So it has the ability to link that to transitions...to restart the counter.
