  • 1.  Controlling NK Router in Dashboard

I have learned some of the nk.doSwitch command in Dashboard to be able to control my NK Router through scripts in Dashboard

If I want to set Destination 41 to Source 15, everything works beautifully (once I figured the numbering scheme).

However, I need to send a source I cannot figure out how to access. It seems that, in this numbering scheme, source 0 is actually the 11th source in the switchboard. I need to access sources 1-10, which align with the defined outputs of our Carbonite. I have tried everything I can think of, including negative numbers which I knew wouldn't work, but gave it the good old college try. I feel this is going to be obvious, but right now it it oblivious to me. This is likely very simple, but I am not seeing it.

Someone please help me out here! Thanks!

    Hi Marty,

I would start by checking the Switchboard settings within DashBoard and validating these are correct for the router.

You can open the Switchboard by clicking the Switchboard button near the top of DashBoard. From this panel you will want to open the settings and then inspect the labels.

Please let me know what your findings are.

The findings on that show the first 10 inputs are identical to the Large Switchboard. Is there something I am missing?

I need to be able to switch one particular destination from input 8 to 46 and back again when needed. I want to put these changes in two custom controls, but I cannot access Inputs 0-9, which align with the switcher outputs, specifically Preview, Main and the 8 AUX's.

    Hi Marty
You are correct that the numbering is different for the Switcher/Router combination products such as Carbonite Extreme.  In terms of what you are seeing, if you use the "Switchboard" user interface built into DashBoard, are you able to see/switch the inputs you're looking for? If so, you should be able to see the corresponding input/output numbers in the Swtichboard configuration and those should apply to the "doSwitch" call.  You can also use the "doSwitchWithLabels" call and give the names (again, as defined in the Swtichboard settings) of the input/output/level(s).

If Switchboard is not showing all of the internal inputs/outputs, please let us know the device model you are working with and what your current Switchboard settings are showing you.

    Cheers

    James
