    Hi,
I have a timer running in Xpression, and I want to read the time in Dashboard.
Can  I use Countdown Timer Broadcast to listening but not use Xpression Countdown Widget?
    Thanks,
    Eduardo

    Eduardo,
What if you did it the other way around? Build the timer in Dashboard and stream that value to your xpression scene.

    Hi Malcom,
We need to use a timer with hundredths of seconds. So I don´t know if passing the data from Dashboard to Xpression is going to be accurate.
    What do you think?
    Best regards,

I can't speak to the accuracy down to thousandths. There is an Xpression listener you can install on dashboard that will display data from scenes in Xpression on your dashboard. I have done that before but it wasn't for clocks. I don't want to take you down a rabbit hole if you already have a direction you are headed. If you reach out to your Ross Video rep, they might be able to hook you up with the right tech person.

    Hi
Just to add to this, remember even at the fastest frame normally used, 60fps, you won't resolve 100ths of a second on your graphic. - it will just look like lots of fast digits, which is probably what you want.
What are you trying to time, and what mechanism do you have to start/stop the clock?  If it's someone clicking something or pressing something, then 100ths accuracy is probably not achievable.
If you have an external method to start/stop the clock, I'd go down the Dashboard route as your clock source. It'll be easier to interface to external signals and program up.
I wouldn't worry about the amount of data flying around for 100ths of a second. Over a Gigabit network, that'll be a drop in the ocean, so which ever you choose as the source of your timing, it will be accurate I'd have thought.
