Wondering what the best way to set an output source though dashboard is.  There doesn't seem to be a RossTalk command for it and the output configuration page script seems pretty specific to the Carbonite params.  Documentation or a secret rosstalk string would be awesome. some kind of rosstalk.sendMessage([ip], [port] "XPT OUT:5:MME1:PGM") or something would be pretty stellar.

    Anyone have a fix?

    If you look here:

      http://help.rossvideo.com/carbonite-device/Topics/Protocol/RossTalk/CNT/RT-CNT-Comm.html

you'll see that there is exactly the command you want (XPT).

At the bottom is a list of possible destination and sources you can use.

    Heya Ben,

The intention was to shift the actual output on the Carbonite and while you can assign an aux and change that, I was looking more to actually manage the output itself.  I did read the documentation and the provided destinations for XPT are:

    • Aux Bus — AUX:aux-number
    • Key — ME:ME-number:KEY:key-number
    • MiniME — MME:ME-number
    • Preset — ME:ME-number:PST
    • Program — ME:ME-number:PGM

The best option I have found so far is to deep dive into the Carbonite and use:

    param.getParam([Carbonite],[output param OID], 0).setValue([Value])

It is a bit of a pain in the butt but at least it is working. Thanks for the input. I should have posted when I figured it out.

    Best,

    Brandon

Well Ben's Scenario would work if you set all of the outputs you would like to change on the carbonite to auxes.

Then just route a source to the AUX with the set XPT command.

But yes if you want to go direct to the output you would need to leverage the output params by their oid

    Tony,

totally agreed!  I have a few carbonites floating around and we try to limit the amount of settings that actually need to be done to the unit itself.  While changing and output in the configuration pages is admittedly  pretty light, I'd rather just manage the output directly without the possibility of someone down the way doing something goofy. (maybe I just have trust issues :/)

    I appreciate the input dudes.

    kind regards,

    Brandon
