    Hi, Todd!

My colleagues has problem with SMS.

They made some records and put some files via smb from NLE to MEDIA folder of SMS, but this recorded and transfered files does not exist in clips database of PlayBack software. At the same time they can find this files via windows explorer on server. For several weeks server worked correctly and similar problems didn't arise.

    Good Morning Ilya

There are a couple of reasons that this can occur.

    1) the media is not supported on the SMS video Server and is rejected.

    2) the SMB transfer relies on the Windows Operating system to notify the video engine to add the content to the database. This can sometimes fail as the OS call is a very load priority thread.

There are several ways to clean up the clip.

please contact our tech support group at TechSupport@rossvideo.com or myself directly at trobinson@rossvideo.com. We will annalyze the clip and the workflow and get your media back in the system.

    Ok.

    I'll try to get video.

It's difficult because server installed in Degestan it so far from Moscow and they have very bad internet connection.

It possible that smb transferred files are in incorrect format. And how about files which recorded by Record software by SMS? they didn't exist in database in playback app.

    Ilya,

that sounds like the watched folder may have changed and so the system is not watching the correct folder.

Please check the "Media Import Application" Launched from Start-Programs-Ross...

and ensure that the wat5chede folder is set to D:Media

The Media Import Wizard can also be used to drop all the media and rebuild the database form the file system. However, doing so will lose all IN/OUT Point settings and any buckets that have been created.
