Video Servers & Replay Systems​

We are building out a new Ross Carbonite control room that would compliment our other main control room. In the main Control Room we use a Sony 8000, with all of our transitions stored on an Abekas Mira connected via VDCP. Would there be any scenario of conflict if we shared that same Mira with the Carbonite over AMP? It’s an 8-Channel server, so half designated to the Sony on VDCP and the other half to the Carbonite on AMP. Also, does the Carbonite have any capability of setting time codes with its cues over AMP similar to the Sony 8000 and VDCP? Or are custom control transitions simply, cue and play. So basically the animations need to have a clean in and out frame. Is there any connectivity with dashboard, with respect to displaying the outputs or any information related to the Mira. Or is it limited to the setting of AMP custom controls macros? Thank you for any information related to these questions Ryan

Hi Ryan, I will answer your questions to the best of my knowledge. 1. You cannot split protocols. If you're using VDCP for Sony, you cannot do AMP as well for Carbonite, or vice versa, unfortunately. 2. I am not sure about Carbonite supporting setting TC cues. Usually a Carbonite integrated with a Mira or Tria is simply cuing and playing out videos. 3. You can connect to DB using VDCP, with the Mira as a device. We are currently working on a native API DB panel, and that is hoping to be launched in the next couple of months, so keep an eye out for it. Hope this helps.

Ryan! I literally just confirmed with the source that you should be able to set different room configurations to different protocols. On the RS422 tab in Mira Config.
