Production Switchers

Is there a way to do a split key? On occasion we have the need to use the fill from one source and a matte (alpha signal) from another source.

The TD knows he could go into the menus and accomplish the end result by changing the alpha input for the selected fill, thus allowing the auto select to behave as a split key. He would like to know if there is quick "split key" function that he could do while switching the show, since it is a near impossibility to switch a show and reassign an alpha to an undetermined source.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,

In the Keyer select the source to be the fill. Then hold down the auto select key and use the keybus to now select the alpha source.

Mike,

You might also have him try making the Alpha source selection while recording a custom control. There are several menu changes that will show up as a recorded event in a custom control. It's not always obvious, but it's something to try and make a quicker change.
