Hi Philippe,
Some answers...
1. the USB port on the frame rear are extended from the main board (you will see the extender cable inside the door) only one port is connected to the mainboard for each switcher (you can have two Carbonite's installed) you can choose to plug in a USB drive in the rear port or disconnect the extension and plug into the front of the board directly, that way you can decide which method gives you the best access. The USB drive is where all saves, still and animations reside.
2. Currently it is not possible to advanced the playlist from a custom control, this may be in a later release.
3. You will be able to manage Custom Control names in Dashboard with the next firmware release (v8.0) which is due out Dec/Jan. Currently you have to use the control panel.
4. Not at present, that is only from the panel just now.
5. The MultiViewers reside inside the switcher subsection, so you can only monitor sources that have been directly assigned to the switcher.
6. No you cannot lock the panel, however if you want it to be disabled you can disconnect it (or power it off) and it will not affect current operation.
7. Yes, you need to create input names for the router via the Dashboard 'Switchboard' and then save the settings. That creates a .nks file that you can open in the Carbonite input configuration menu. You can then also decide if you the switcher mnemonics to be just the router input names or the switcher input names (they can be different) or both.
There are a lot more operational and setup features that we will release for Carbonite and Carbonite eXtreme over the next few months, particularly exciting is the new MiniME and Multiscreen functionality. We are also working on additional DashBoard updates that will enhance setup and operations.
Let me know if we can help further.
Nigel
