New to the eXtreme frame here, need to clarify my understanding of the number of outputs. (ver, 11.02, with 1 switcher installed in the frame).

Reading the comparison sheet of the various frame models, it indicates that the frame has "from 16 to 144" multi-definition outputs. But when I look at Dashboard (ver. 7), I can only see 8 outputs available. (I assume that the total number of 144 outs is for both production and routing combined).

    So, the question(s) are:

    i) Are there actually only 8 production switcher outputs on the eXtreme frame per switcher (8 outs for Switcher A and the other 8 outs for Switcher B) ? so this is why the comparison page indicates "from 16..."

ii) or, are there actually 16 switcher outs per production switcher, but it requires purchase/installation of an additional Output Card (9807-5003) ?

    thx.

The Physical I/O ability is 144x144 that is in the Router System. The XPT though is larger than 144x144 as it has 24 "Outputs" to the Switcher and 10 "Inputs" from the switcher. So imagine it as a 154x168 Router where you wired 24 outputs to the Switchers 24 Inputs and the 10 Outputs from the Switcher to Inputs on the Router.

Now in DashBoard or on an NK Control panel you will be able to Route any Physical input to any of the Switchers inputs, also the Physical outputs can be routed any of the Physical Inputs plus any of the 10 Switchers outputs. In version 11 or 12 we made it so that all 10 of the switcher outputs can be assigned. However by default 2 of them are assigned as PGM and PV. However in the switcher configuration you can map those "outputs" to be anything -- though your going to need to keep at least PGM. In some environments we like to feed Aux Buses to the "PGM" feed. That way we can switch away from switcher PGM to a source directly (think Scoreboard or IMAG) so that it is a timed clean switch but allows us to then work on the PGM effects without that going out to the Board/Screen.

Hope this makes it a little more clear.
