    Hi All,

I know ive seen a post before but i thought i need to ask.

Im using a Carbonite 1A, when i enable the MiniMEs, i seem to loose Keyer 3 & 4.

Is this a limitation with this model? or am i doing something wrong here.

    Thanks

    Derek:

You are not doing anything wrong.

The Carbonite 1A has only 4 keyer resources in total available.

When you activate the MiniMEs it uses two switcher's keyer resources and devotes those to the MiniMEs. (MiniMEs Key 1 and Key 2). Note that ONLY MiniME key 1 can be a DVE key within the MiniME, if you select it to be a DVE key, then the total switcher DVE keys are lowered by one.

Do a search on this forum for MiniME, read the post from Dave 4 days ago - Nigel responded to his question with a PDF file link that may help you understand a little bit more about how Ross processes the video signals.

    Hi Guys,

Just want to take a second to clear up a couple of items.

First -- No Keyers are lost from the ME when you are using MiniMEs. MiniMEs have there own Keyers. The DVEs do float through the system (8 channels when the MiniME mode is enabled).

Second -- The MiniME have the DVE Keyer as Key 1 and Key 2 can be a Auto/Self or Chroma Key. This is the fixed order for these keyers.

Third -- MiniMEs do not have 4 Keyers. They are "Mini" MEs and only have the 2 keyers while full MEs have 4 Full Keyers each. You are able to re-enter a MiniME into another MiniME though.
