I know I'm doing something wrong here...

Loaded a 90 frame targa sequence into M1 and set the cut point to 90. When I have "Media" selected and hit Auto Trans, it will take 90 frames to play the sequence, then will play it, and not cut on the 90th frame. What am I doing wrong?

Did you set the cut point of the GPI Delay?

Second after setting the "cut" point did you "save" this or was there still an * next to the number?

This is my order of operations:

    1. I hit M1 on the program bus.

    2. Browsed for the 90 frame targa sequence on the USB and loaded it

    3. Hit Next to change the attributes

    4. X pos - 0, Y pos - 0, Shaped - no, Looping - no, Reverse - no, Autoplay - yes, Speed - x1, CutFr - 90fr, GPO - none, GPOFr - -1fr

    5. Hit Media on the transition side

    What do I do next?

I just want to go from a camera to camera, don't need to cue anything besides the animation. Should I be cueing M1 on the Key bus? There is no key, it's just an RGB transition wipe. If I put it on Key 1, and Auto Trans, it doesn't seem to cut to the other camera after the 90th frame.

    Hi Ryan,

Well you actually don't load the Media Wipe that way. Media Wipes uses channels 2 (and 4 as the alpha). you press the media button in the trans area. press next on the menu then you can browse like you did before to the file and load it.

Note that when you make a change to parameters you have to click the "save" knob to the right of the modification knob.

What you were seeing is that you only applied those parameters for that "instance" of the item on Channel 1. When Media 2 loaded the Media wipe it still uses the database entries and if you do not save them then you won't get them every time you load it. Further the delay was that M2 has a separate 4 GB Ram Cache than M1 -- Thus when you want it to run it first had to load it again into Ram Cache for M2. However like I mentioned above your parameter settings were probably never saved to the database so once loaded into RamCache it would have gone back to the "defaults".

Thanks for this. I think the actual problem was with the targa sequence itself. It appears it must have an RGB+Alpha with a black background (which can be invisible) when exported out of After Effects.
