Hi there.

We are testing our new Cabonite an I tried to use a media wipe that has audio. The audio only plays our of the multiviewer not program. I have Ancillary Data set to N Pass and have tried L Pass but it makes no difference. I am sure I have missed something but I don't know yet what.

Any ideas what I should do next?

Hi Brian,

You are not missing anything, the Media Store audio is only output to the multi viewers. This ensures that the audio does not interfere with any existing audio that is embedded in the main video outputs and also allows your audio to be easily monitored via an SDI-HDMI converter. This was actually a change we made several versions ago at the request of numerous customers.

Thanks for the update. On page 48 of V9, the manual it still says... "Audio plays out on Program, Preview, Aux, and

MultiViewer outputs only", just so you know.

Brian, I should clarify this a little better for you.

If the media Store has audio and it is a background source and not a media wipe, then the audio will be passed out of PGM, PV or Aux if it is assigned there. However when it is a Media Wipe it is a keyed source over a background and so only the background audio will be present.

However I read the manual and I agree this is unclear.

I see the difference now. Thanks for clarifying. Its not a big deal and it simply means I need to send another line to my audio console.
