  • 1.  GPI Trigger to run next event in OverDrive

Some time ago I created a Custom Control in our Vision Switcher that was a GPI trigger to run the next event in OverDrive. Once in a blue moon it wouldn't work properly, but I never thought much of it. We are now using this Custom Control much more frequently, which means it is also NOT working more frequently. Can anyone think of a reason this GPI would not work or is there a trick to building it that I might have missed? Thanks a bunch

What version of OverDrive are you running (and switcher?)

In Version 12 OverDrive and Version 16 Vison you can actually "send" advancement commands to OverDrive from the switcher in custom controls. No longer requiring the GPI/O loopback. This will ensure that a consistent timing is maintained and thus result in completed events.

Our Switcher is Version 10.1 q MD

    Our OverDrive is Version 8.11.4665

I hear there are all sorts of things that would make life easier in newer versions of OverDrive and the switcher....I dare to dream that someday we will have those!!

The customs for take in Overdrive via GPI are known to be inconsistent. If there are multiple events within the custom, inserting pauses (like 5 or 10 frames) can help this problem, but not necessarily fix its inconsistency altogether.
