  • 1.  RCP ME - Carbonite Black

    Hi Everyone,

I am trying to connect an RCP-ME panel to our carbonite black frame for crosspoint control.

The hardware setup is as follows (all static ip):

Carbonite Black >> ethernet >> switch
    RCP ME >> network switch
    NK-IPS >> network switch
    NK-IPS >> Tbus 1 >>NK-NET apapter >> network switch

I don't use a carbonite panel in my setup, so in order to add the aux bus panel to the system I borrowed a 2ME panel and followed the instructions on the aux bus setup guide - using the network address of the IPS on port 5000, and switching on level 2.

Whenever I try to assign either crosspoint or destination values to the RCP - I get "no resp" from the LCD, as if to say it's not connecting to the carbonite. The current state of the RCP-ME is illustrating input 1 to all outputs which is certainly not correct.

    What am I missing here?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers.

The RCP-ME needs to be "talking" to the NK-NET. Also if your current level mask for the RCP-ME has Level 1 in it then you will see this No-Response as it is going to display the "first" level of the breakaway. I would consider using the panel in Breakaway reset mode and then setting the Breakaway to be Level 2 only.

Thanks Les, I've managed to make a connection to the Carbonite and have been able to successfully make crosspoint selections. The new problem is - the NK-Net is only making itself available to the RCP-ME in very brief periods. It appears in walkabout as having 100 percent link quality. Just to confirm - I am using port 5000 for comms, both units are in group one, and share the same LAN properties
