I have downloaded upgrade v5.1 for our Carbonite. What file or files need to go to the thumb drive?

The entire downloaded folder from my desktop or an individual file from the folder?

    Thanks, Mike Simon

    Mike,

Just unzip the downloaded upgrade folder and copy the 'upgrade-5.1.0.6078.carbonite' file to the root of a USB drive or thumbdrive. You can then upgrade using the following proceedure:

    1. Ensure that DIP switch 4 on the frame is set in the up position. If

this DIP switch is set in the down position, you will not be able to

    upgrade the switcher.

    2. Insert the USB drive with the upgrade file into the USB Port on the

switcher. You must wait 5 seconds for the switcher to recognize the

    USB drive.

    3. Press MENU > RESET > NEXT > NEXT > NEXT.

    4. Press the From USB knob.

    5. Use the USB knob to select the upgrade file you want to install

    onto the switcher.

    6. Press the USB knob.

    7. Press the Confrm knob to install the selected file.

If the message CRITICAL UPGRADE is shown on the display, the

switcher is performing an upgrade that includes critical software

components. This does not indicate a problem with your switcher.

The switcher starts upgrading with the selected file. The upgrade

will take several minutes to complete.

I think you will enjoy the new version - the media manager is totally cool!

Thanks Nigel...upgrade was a success! Quick question though. I noticed dip switch 4 was already in the "up" position. Does it matter what position these dip switches are in when in standard operating mode? All of the switches are in the up position. I can't seem to find anything in the setup or operators manual regarding the dip switches.

    Thanks, Mike

    Mike,

Actually the factory default is that 4 should be up, they will not affect operation so dont worry.

I just tried to upgrade to version 9.1 and it failed. Now the Carbonite switcher is unresponsive. Is there a way to retry the upgrade without going through the switcher interface?

Version 12 is not the latest, version 13 is directly downloadable from the Carbonite section of our website. Is there a particular reason that you are asking for V12?
