Les I need to know what I have to do with my carbonite to pass a signal that have an audio embedded to get this in the output with the audio. At this time the switcher is removing the audio when I get the signal in the program output. I need that the signal maintain the same audio embedded after this pass throw the switcher.

    Waiting for your comments

    Hi Charles,

The Forum is not a "tech support" avenue. if you are in urgent need of a response please use the tech support contact information. You can call +1-613-652-4886 and get a person 24 hours a day.

The switcher can pass the audio that is on the BKGD bus of the PGM MLE when you have the ancillary data set accordingly -- please refer to the manual for the differences in the 4 settings.

The switcher is not an audio mixer so if you are looking for audio from a keyer it will not be there as we don't "mix" the audio.

Apologize Les for the request of the answer. But I need that you help me to do it.

I have an SDI signal in the input 1 of the switcher and that signal has an audio embedded them when I push the input 1 in the program, the audio that is embedded is not passing . Can you explain in a few words how can I do to get that in the program output.

do you have a FSync turned on?

If a Fsync is enabled on that input -- or in Bus mode on the pgm bus the audio will be stripped as all of the Ancillary Data is stripped.

    from the manual:

    1. PressMENU>SYSTEM>NEXT.

    2. Use the Anclry knob to select whether ancillary

    data is stripped or passed.

"¢ N Strp "” ancillary data is stripped

"¢ N Pass "” ancillary data is passed unmodified

"¢ L Strp "” ancillary data and some lines of active video are replaced with black

"¢ L Pass "” ancillary data and some lines of active video are passed unmodified

So make sure also you have not set this to one of the STRP settings which will also strip all of the audio as well.

Oh and don't apologize for the request. I am more than happy to help out and answer all the questions I can. However we just need to point out that the Forums are not "monitored" as a Tech Support avenue. So it is very easy for days to go by between replies.

Sometimes I am on a plane that would actually be in the air for 18 hours.

you would want to be using a PASS either N or L.

you can not use a Fsync at all. The system Fsyncs will strip the audio.
