  • 1.  Positioner Controller (joystick)

On our Vision 3, when running certain programs with sequences, the Controller does not hold the KEYS in its place.

Sometimes without sequences the KEYS will fly off screen, in either the X,Y or Z axis. For example on double boxes, both KEYS are there. But if you're unlucky, one KEY will fly off the screen.

So far to prevent this and somehow "reset" the program. We jiggle the joystick in a circular fashion and it fixes the problem. Temporary, of course.

    Is this a common defect?

I think this was a bug in some older versions of Vision. Check with tech support to see if there is updated software available for your system.

Failing that; I believe you might be able to prevent the joystick from taking control of the keyer.

    Try this:

In the joystick area, hold down LINK and press CLEAR. This should put the joystick into a mode where it says "NO CONTROL". Then press the LOCK button and it should lock the joystick into controlling nothing, and it should never autofollow to anything until you turn off the LOCK button.
