  • 1.  Graphite: Audio Mixer Fader Chaining

Hello. I'm hoping to use the other audio mixer auxes to act as IFB feeds and clean feeds. I know it's possible to fake chaining by making a custom control, but with limited custom control real estate on the Carbonite panel, it would be great to chain faders together or create a group or master fader. Any chance this could be possible?

Well you could build a custom panel that would give you a fader and then that could send data to the other OIDs that make up the channels in the audio mixer that you wan to control. However I think we would need way more detail to full understand and send you in the correct direction. So far I have only used this method for linking faders -- ie to make Analog audio channels into "L/R" pairs.

So yeah -- just a little bit more detail and maybe we can send you in the correct direction or just confirm it is not currently possible.

Thanks for the response Les. Love your videos by the way, thank you for all of that.

Essentially, without having to create a CC, I would like the ability to track a fader on my MAIN aux while that same source is automatically tracked on either or all audio auxes. I'm hoping that when a fader is manually or AFV tracked on the MAIN, the same source will be opened up on a designated aux. Ideally, it's to create a 'fake' Mix-Minus and/or clean audio for taped segments. Pretty much actively mixing on separate auxes without the use of CC.

If you have a fader set to POST Mode and don't have it muted does it not track the Main as well? I guess I will have to look at this but thought that just worked.

Anyway Yes you could create a Custom panel that (when open and running) would kind of do this for you. Essentially you use the Visual Logic ability to have those Values write into the values of the faders that are in the Auxes.
