  • 1.  Capture Custom Control

I'm hoping someone can help me create a custom control to capture a still of the preview bus. Seems simple, but I have been unable to get it to work. I would think my custom control would be to select the media channel and then select capture preview, but it doesn't work as it does if I did it live. Can that not be recorded to a custom control? Do I need to throw in a pause? Is there any way to capture a still and not load it into one of the media channels which could knock off what I have online?

    Thanks

    Custom control

    Start recording. .

Select a media player to do the capture on PST

Turn the input selection knob to preview

    Press the capt knob

    Stop recording

Edit the custom you just made. Delete the place where you selected your media player on PST (first step of the custom control)

I would put the capturing media player in your wall somewhere.

Select on preview your source to capture, remember it takes time, about 7sec, to write the still to the USB

Thanks. I wasn't able to record the preview channel as I guess it feedbacked when I put the media channel in preview. Maybe I need to delete that step after recording of the custom control is finished. I was however able to get it to capture the program bus which is fine. Now I have an even easier question. I can see the captures are recording to the USB stick. How can I access them without removing the stick? Can I capture to the hard drive of the carbonite?

    Thanks

The USB is the "hard drive" for the switcher. You can use FTP to connect to it.

Use a client like Firezilla on Windows or Chicken of the VNC for Mac :)

Information is in the manual but basically:

    Ftp://ipaddress of switcher/USB

    username is user

    password is password

    Scott:

First, in the custom you built to capture the pvw bus -- You need to delete the selecting the media player on the pvw bus. This will eliminate the 'feedback' -- follow the steps I provided above and you will have no problems.

Second, The carbonite does not have a hard drive it utilizes a USB you connect to the main frame for all things like capture, files for the media players, and saving / recalling your sets (shows).

Lastly, To view the captured files you can do as Les has mentioned above using filezilla OR another option is to 'load' the file back into a media player after capturing. You would press the desired media player you wish to load and see the captured file, then target the usb to the capture folder (the system builds this automaticly when you capture anything). Then turn the knob and press down to view it when your on the file your on. To rename the captured images, you will have to remove and use a computer or you could ftp from the usb, change the name. then ftp it back onto the usb.

Page 48 of the manual has all the information also :)
